This post is an exciting opportunity for a qualified social worker who wants to develop their career and professional competencies in an integrated community health and social care team.
The East Sheen & Barnes Health and Social Care Team is a dynamic, enthusiastic team of social workers, occupational therapists, social care assessors, reviewing officers, district nurses and community matrons who provide a holistic service to younger people with physical disabilities and older people.
Safeguarding vulnerable adults is a priority to Richmond Social Services. You would receive specialist training and close supervision from a member of the management team to develop this area of your practice.
To achieve the team’s objectives it would be important that you are committed to multidisciplinary working and strengthening partnerships with voluntary organisations. Team members are aligned to GP practices and work closely with other specialist teams in the borough to provide a seamless health and social care to service users.
As the London Borough of Richmond is one of the country’s leading authorities in Self-Directed Support and Individual Budgets, you will have an interest in assisting service users to achieve their rehabilitation goals with more choice, control and independence through personalised support plans.
Richmond Social Services has strong partnerships with the PCT and the voluntary and private sector. We are committed to providing a first class service to our service users and their carers, through staff who are passionate about what they do.
As an organisation which holds Investors in People accreditation, our staff can expect regular supervision and support as well as a planned approach to their professional development.
Overseas candidates are required to have a recognised social work qualification and GSCC registration. For further information please check the GSCC website www.gscc.org.uk
Applications are particularly welcome from disabled people and people from black and minority ethnic backgrounds, because they are currently under-represented in this service.
Please contact Margot Main or Alix Tonutti on 020 8487 1678 if you wish to have an informal discussion about this post
