Richmond Council's website, www.richmond.gov.uk, is among the top ten local authority websites in the country. The role of Web Content Editor is to create and maintain online material for a group of service areas to a consistent standard of excellence.

As well as working with immediate colleagues in the Corporate Web Team, the role requires an ability to foster strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including staff in Communications, ICT, Customer Services and specific service areas. The individual must also display meticulous attention to detail and an ability to engage in regular, constructive feedback to ensure continuous improvement in web content and online services. You will play an active role in suggesting how content and online services can be further improved to provide the most user friendly and cost efficient options through your knowledge of current developments and trends affecting websites and web technologies.

As well as having an excellent standard of written English, you need to be able to demonstrate your ICT knowledge and enthusiasm for learning new technologies. An understanding of the work of local authorities or experience of using web content management systems would be a great advantage, but your proven ability to manage multiple, competing deadlines and work under pressure is even more important.
